The Norwegian Honorary Consulate in Illinois
The Norwegian Honorary Consulate in Illinois is located in Chicago, Illinois and assists those in the surrounding areas. The Honorary Consulate also collaborates with other Consulates or the Embassy as needed. We help facilitate development of commercial, economic, cultural, scientific and educational relations between Norway and the state of Illinois.
The current Honorary Consul is Susan Meyer. There are no general office hours, but the Honorary Consul can be reached by email or telephone and will see people by appointment.
Services
- Provide consular assistance such as notary services, information, emergency assistance, and voting assistance
- Provide information about Norway and Norwegian-American relations
- Provide information about travel to Norway. During normal times, US citizens do not need a visa to travel in Norway for short term tourist visits (maximum 90 days); there remain strict restrictions based upon the Covid 19 emergency order. See link above for current updates.
